Hitachi Energy India Limited is injecting ₹300 crore into its Mysuru manufacturing facility, a strategic MOVE that will double production capacity for transformer-grade insulation materials. The expansion introduces the world's first fossil-free production line for pressboard and laminated board—critical components in power grid infrastructure.

Scheduled for completion by mid-2027, the project replaces fossil fuel boilers with sustainable alternatives, positioning the site as an ultra-low carbon manufacturing hub. This initiative aligns with the company's broader ₹2,000-crore investment plan announced last October, targeting India's accelerating renewable energy integration and global transformer shortages.

The upgraded facility will supply markets across the Middle East, Southeast Asia, and Africa, addressing surging electricity demand worldwide. Transformer insulation materials serve as vital safety barriers in power grids—a sector experiencing exponential growth as nations modernize energy infrastructure.
